Clients in individual psychotherapy learn about their strengths and challenges and build the skills they need to have a more satisfying life. I use behavioral and insight-oriented methods of treatment depending on client needs and focus on helping clients tell the story, develop insight, and manage troubling symptoms and problems. I specialize in treating clients who have ADHD, anxiety, depression, or relationship problems.
Clients in couples counseling work on improving their connection to each other, enhancing the joy they can find in their relationship, and on learning better ways to communicate and solve problems. Every couple is unique and I help them find creative solutions to the issues that trouble them.
Here are some of the things that individual therapy can help you with:
How long are the sessions and how many sessions are recommended?
Sessions usually run 50 minutes. The number of sessions that I’ll recommend is best determined after we have an initial consultation.
How will I pay for therapy?
Psychotherapy is usually covered by insurance and couples counseling is sometimes covered by insurance. I am in network with one commercial insurer, Anthem, and with Medicare and Medicaid. If you have other insurance you can pay for your sessions by check or credit card. I will provide a bill for you to be reimbursed by your insurer if you have out-of network coverage.
What techniques do you use?
I employ a number of different psychotherapeutic techniques, from behavior therapy to more insight oriented treatment, depending on client needs.
Do you have any other questions?
My focus is on you and I strive to be as flexible and open as possible. If you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
